RMAN ACTIVE DATABASE DUPLICATE AND ORA-19505: failed to identify file "%S"

Resolution:-
Check the target instance is started using spfile or  pfile. If it is running using pfile start the database using spfile. Duplicate database using active database requires the target database should be running using spfile.

$ export ORACLE_SID=CVRMAN
$ sqlplus / as sysdba
SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.4.0 Production on Mon Jun 2 02:49:08 2014
